FMF Gold Series Fatty Pipe Review
There’s a reason it’s the #1 selling two-stroke pipe in the world…. I tested the FMF Gold Series Fatty Pipe on a 2001 Yamaha yz125, a 2003 YZ125, an ‘02 CR125, and I will say that it is a great addition for pretty much any bike. If you want a little more power with just one bolt-on part then here is a great opportunity. The FMF Fatty pipe made a good, healthy increase in power from the bottom all the way to the top. It increased the horsepower everywhere and increased the throttle response. The Fatty also gave the bike a little more over-rev, which really helps if you’re a rider who likes to wring its neck.
I honestly do not have any complaints about the FMF Fatty pipe. It can get dented up by rocks and such, but at least it doesn’t cost as much as a four-stroke exhaust. I really like this pipe and would buy it again. The quality of this FMF exhaust is excellent and a lot better than stock. It was extremely easy to slip on the bike and did not interfere with anything else on the bike. If you’re looking for more power everywhere on your two-stroke dirt bike, then this is the pipe to get.
It’s amazing how cheap two-stroke exhaust pipes are compared to four-stroke exhausts. Even compared to their own four-stroke pipes, the FMF two-stroke pipes are a fraction of the cost. This is the perfect do-it-all pipe because it works well for trail riding, motocross, and even desert riding. This is why the Fatty pipe is the most popular two-stroke pipe. Not only does this pipe increase power, but the FMF Fatty pipe is stronger than a stock exhaust pipe because it is made from 19 gauge US steel and has a nickel finish, which allows for a great look and easy cleaning.
